lapassantjuriste: Sakamich no Apollon (9)
[personal profile] lapassantjuriste

Sakamichi no Apollon is ultimately a story about Sen and Kaoru's friendship and that's what these two episodes were about.

We can call what Kaoru did at the end of episode 6 and over-reaction, but considering that Sen its probably the first real friend he has had in years, and the fact that this sort of thing has happened before, I can't blame him for reacting the way he did, when Sen decided to help out Seiji with his band for the school festival, because while we can all see that it was not entirely out of character for Sen to do so and also not a big deal, to Kaoru it seemed like he was loosing Sen.

That said, I knew that this was not going to be the end of their friendship and that they would eventually get past this, and they did, but what really got me was that it was through an impromptu jam session! I don't know why I am surprised through because music is also a central theme here. But watching the two of them let the music do the talking, was really for me one of the highlights of the series so far and put this big smile on my face, which is why I love this series so much.

However while things with Sen and Kaoru get patched up, things between Sen, Yurika and Jun have taken a turn for the worst. Sen's finally figured out Yurika's feelings for Jun, but unfortunately when he decided to make his move, he's interrupted by none other than Jun who's gone off the deep end, and who behaves like a complete arse.

Either way I did say things were going to get mighty interesting, and they did, and it was nice to see more of Jun's dark side, although I wonder what was the catalyst for all this, and I'm not sure what could happen next.
